Allegheny County Bar Association logoThe Allegheny County Bar Association LGBTQ+ Rights Committee is presenting a CLE program entitled Trans 201: Transgender Name Changes, Policy and Reform on May 29, 2024 from 4:00 PM-5:00 PM Eastern. This program is only being offered live in-person at the Koppers Building.

Panelists from the ACBA LGBTQ+ Rights Committee and the Hugh Lane Foundation will present on the future and legal theory surrounding the Name Change Process. Specific attention will be given to issues surrounding publication requirements, difficulty with sealing documents, as well as a discussion on the contrasts between name changes in Allegheny County and surrounding counties. Panel members will discuss local rules and proposed rule reform as well as a constitutional right to name changes.
