Neighborhood Legal Services logoNeighborhood Legal Services will be presenting an in-person CLE program entitled CLEAN SLATE 3.0: Overcoming a Criminal Past to Make Way for a Brighter Future on April 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM Eastern. The program will be held at the Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP office located at Six PPG Place, Suite 1300, Pittsbrugh, PA  15222.

Join the ranks of attorney volunteers who help our neighbors remove barriers to employment, housing, education and professional licensure, thereby expanding their opportunity to achieve stable lives. This continuing legal education program will explain eligibility criteria for clearing Pennsylvania criminal records through expungement, limited access (sealing), and pardons.

Focusing on expungement and limited access, particularly in light of the amendments to the Clean Slate Act that went into effect on February 12, 2024 (“Clean Slate 3.0”), the presenters will discuss expanded availability of automatic and petition-based record-sealing for offenses not previously eligible, including some felonies. Additionally, the program will address practical and procedural issues relating to expungement and limited access, including how to prepare and file petitions pro bono through Neighborhood Legal Services and the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership.

Presenters:

Michael J. DiSantis, Tressler, LLP
Melissa L. Evans, Neighborhood Legal Services
Judy Hale , Neighborhood Legal Services

Lunch will be provided by Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP.
