The Philadelphia Bar Association is presenting a virtual CLE program entitled Record Clearing and the Expanded Clean Slate Law on March 28, 2024 from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM Eastern. The program is co-hosted by the Criminal Justice Section Joanne Epps Memorial Continuing Education Program and the Public Interest Section.

Record clearing is an essential tool to helping individuals with criminal records access jobs, housing, education, and more. Pennsylvania's newly expanded Clean Slate 3.0 law went into effect February 12, 2024. The law now allows some felony convictions to be sealed for the very first time, as well as additional misdemeanors and decreased wait times. Panelists offer guidance regarding record clearing remedies, the nuts and bolts of the new Clean Slate law, and why this topic should matter to criminal defense attorneys and civil public interest attorneys alike!
