Allegheny County Bar Association logoThe Allegheny County Bar Association Immigration Law Committee and Family Law Section are presenting a CLE program entitled Special Immigrant Juvenile Status Process: When Immigration and Family Law Cross Paths on May 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Eastern. The program will take place in the Koppers Building - E.P. Mellon Room.

This program will cover family court requirements for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). Panelists will review the following:

  • Confirmation of custody and dependency
  • Court order and petition examples to meet both the family and the immigration requirements
  • Advice from the Bench regarding typical issues and best practices
  • Discussion of recent Pa. Superior Court case law
  • Guidance from experienced attorneys handling Dependency and/or Custody Confirmation
  • Guidance from immigration law attorneys regarding SIJS process after obtaining the predicate order from the family court
