PA Legal Aid Network - 50 Years logoPennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. is hosting a webinar, entitled  Immigrant Eligibility for Public Benefits, on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Eastern.

This session will provide an overview of common immigration statuses and the public benefits our immigrant clients may be able to receive.  We will review the immigration documents our clients may have and the immigration status eligibility criteria for major public benefits programs including SNAP, Medical Assistance, TANF and SSI.   We will also provide updates on sponsor deeming and public charge rules.

This training is for all advocates.


This program will be presented on the Zoom platform.

PLEASE NOTE:  if you are requesting CLE credit for attending this webinar you must actively participate in the entire webinar. There will be interactive polls launched during the webinar that you will have to respond to in order to prove your active participation.

  • CLE Credit Comments:

    This program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 1.5 hours of substantive law, practice and procedure CLE credit.

    The Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board has set the following requirements for 2023 and 2024:

    For compliance periods ending in 2022 and thereafter, or until further modification by the Board, the number of credits earned through accredited pre-recorded/on-demand (asynchronous) programs shall not exceed six (6).

    Credits earned through accredited live-online (synchronous) programs shall be treated the same as traditional classroom courses. Only credits earned through live-online and in-person/classroom courses taken during this period may carry forward (up to two compliance periods).
