Neighborhood Legal Services logoNeighborhood Legal Services is hosting a CLE program entitled Landlord/Tenant Mediation Advice Project CLE Seminar on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Eastern.

The program will be presented in-person at  the offices of Meyer, Unkovic, & Scott LLP, 535 Smithfield St, Pittsburgh, PA. The program is also available virtually if you are unable to attend the in-person presentation.

Neighborhood Legal Services has recently seen a tremendous increase to never-before-seen numbers of eviction filings, and is requesting help to meet the needs for this influx of clients. This program will train volunteers to participate in a new project to provide brief phone advice to tenants who are preparing for community-based mediation with their landlord.

NLS Managing Attorney for Housing Adam DiBuo and NLS Pro Bono Manager Judy Hale will present a CLE course that will cover the basics of landlord/tenant law and prepare attorneys to provide crucial legal advice to renters in our community who are facing eviction.

Attorneys will volunteer for a time commitment of about 2 hours every other month, to provide brief legal advice by phone to tenants preparing to mediate with their landlords.

Registration for In Person attendance closes at 3:00 PM on January 22, 2024. Registration for virtual participation is open until 1 hour before the seminar begins.
