Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. - 50 Years logoPlease join the PLAN SSI/SSDI DAP Training Team for an in-person, one-day training on SSI and SSDI non-disability (financial eligibility) issues on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM Eastern. The program will be held at the Hilton Harrisburg, One North 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101.

This training will include a deep dive on a range of non-disability issues, including overpayments, asset limit terminations and denials, and in-kind support and maintenance (ISM).  It will also include practice tips for filing and resolving appeals and waivers. The training is a good fit for newer staff and more experienced practitioners alike.  

The training will be led by PLAN program alum, non-disability expert, and in-demand trainer John Whitelaw, currently serving as Advocacy Director at the Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. (CLASI) of Delaware.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Registration

Registration is free to staff or client board members of the following PA Legal Aid Network (PLAN) programs: CJP, CLS, JAW, LASP, MPLS, NLSA, NPLS, NWLS, PHLP, PILP, PLA, PULP, RHLS and SLS. Registration includes meals as noted and materials.

Registration for staff of Non-PLAN public interest, government or other nonprofit organizations is $75.00

The cost for all other registrants is $150.00.

PLEASE NOTE: The REGISTRATION DEADLINE for this training is  February 6, 2024.

Virtual Pre-Training

For new practitioners (less than one year of SSI/SSDI practice), the DAP Training Team will be offering a one-hour virtual pre-training session on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 2:00 PM.

The pre-training will set the stage for the larger training.  The pre-training will focus on key vocabulary and an overview of the structure of the Social Security Administration.

This pre-training program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 1.0 hours of substantive law, practice and procedure CLE credit.
