Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. - 50 Years logoPennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Inc. is hosting a webinar entitled Pennsylvania's Clean Slate Law Expands! on Monday, January 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM-3:30 PM Eastern.

Pennsylvania was the first state in the nation to pass a Clean Slate law back in 2018, leading to the automated sealing of over 40 million records to date. Now, we are joining the majority of states that allow some felony convictions to be sealed.

Clean Slate expansion, also known as Clean Slate 3.0, will allow some drug felony convictions to be sealed by automation and property felonies to be sealed by petition, after 10 years. The waiting periods for sealing eligible misdemeanor and summary convictions were also reduced to 7 and 5 years respectively.

This CLE will cover the major changes to the Clean Slate law, review eligibility rules, and discuss what a sealed record means for clients.

Presenters:

Katie Svoboda-Kindle, Community Legal Services of Philadelphia
Jamie Gullen, Community Legal Services of Philadelphia
