Allegheny County Bar Association logoThe Allegheny County Bar Association Nonprofit Law Committee is presenting a virtual training entitled  Fundraising and the Law on June 1, 2022 from 12:00 PM-1:30 PM Eastern. 

The program will cover legal considerations for fundraising by nonprofit organizations. Specific topics to be covered will include:

  • Restricted vs. unrestricted funds
  • Fundraising over the Internet, including through social media and online retailers
  • The opportunities and pitfalls for a nonprofit/tax-exempt organization in fundraising
  • The various fundraising methodologies that are available to nonprofit/tax-exempt organizations
  • Tips for structuring and advising a fundraising program in a legally sound manner
  • Charitable organizations contributing to organizations and charitable causes located in countries outside of the U.S.

Attorneys representing nonprofit organizations would benefit on these topics to assist their clients. Professionals from nonprofit organizations would gain information helpful to them in their efforts. Attorneys serving on nonprofit boards would also benefit from the presentation.
