The Pro Bono Center of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation is hosting a CLE Training presented by the Abolitionist Law Center entitled Right to the Cure - Legal Representation of Incarcerated Hepatitis C Patients on March 16, 2017 from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm Eastern. The program will be held at the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, Koppers Building Conference Center, Grant Room - Ninth Floor, 436 Seventh Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

The Hepatitis C Project is part of the Health and Environmental Rights Docket of the Abolitionist Law Center. The Hepatitis C Project is aimed at organizing a network of pro bono attorneys to provide legal services to Hepatitis C positive inmates in the Pennsylvania prison system.

Because of medical advances, Hepatitis C can now be cured with new direct-acting antiviral medications but more than 6,000 incarcerated patients in Pennsylvania are being denied the cure. Attorneys are needed to provide representation n this important public health effort to establish a right to the cure.

Two (2) substantive continuing education credits will be offered to all participating attorneys.

There is a $20 registration fee.
