PA Bar Association Presents Access to Justice Awards

At a special meeting of the ACBA/ACBF Access to Justice Committee on Monday, April 22, David Keller Trevaskis from the Pennsylvania Bar Association presented two awards on behalf of the PBA’s Legal Services to the Public Committee.  The recipients were nominated for the awards by the Allegheny County Bar Association Access to Justice Committee.


Pro Bono Award

Pro Bono Award Presentation: Landlord-Tenant Advice Project

The Landlord/Tenant Advice Project received the Pro Bono Award. This project of the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership mobilizes attorneys and paralegals from five participating organizations who staff a hotline through which they provide advice to individuals concerning landlord tenant issues.

Civil Legal Aid Attorney Award 

Ryan Brusink, Esq.Ryan Brunsink received the Civil Legal Aid Attorney award for his work with the Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center, where he represents people facing deportations throughout the Commonwealth. Ryan has partnered with local organizations—like Pittsburgh’s Casa San Jose—to train volunteer attorneys to expand the reach of free immigration legal services to individuals and families in need.  Ryan zoomed in from PIRC's York Offices.
