NLADA to Honor 21 Firms with the 2023 Beacon of Justice Award

The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) is pleased to announce that 21 firms will be honored with the 2023 Beacon of Justice Award. Each honoree is being recognized for their efforts to address issues related to LGBTQ+ rights and/or gender-based equity issues that intersect with racial equity.  

“When the corporate community speaks, the world listens. When they act, the world responds. So, when they use their collective voices to advance racial equity, gender equity, and LGBTQ+ rights its impact is felt across the globe. We are proud to honor each of the 21 firms who have demonstrated excellence in the fight to ensure access to justice and equity within the legal system,” said NLADA President & CEO April Frazier Camara.

The 2023 Beacon of Justice honorees have demonstrated a commitment to intentional inclusivity and intersectionality with their LGBTQ+ rights, gender equity, and racial equity work.

These firms are vital partners in the NLADA community’s endeavor to elevate equity and justice. The Beacon of Justice awardees will be celebrated at the 2023 NLADA Exemplar Awards Gala on June 8. 

The 21 firms will be honored along with 2023 NLADA Exemplar Award Honorees: Margaret Egan, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Nadine Jones, senior vice president and general counsel at Kuehne+Nagel Inc.
