Volunteers are needed to provide brief advice on a variety of legal issues to individuals with very low incomes in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood. This clinic is a project of the University of Pittsburgh Black Law Students Association in partnership with the ACBA Homer S. Brown Division and the Pro Bono Center of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.

The clinic will be held on Saturday, April 22, 10:00 AM-1:00 PM, at Pitt’s Community Engagement Center, 622 N. Homewood Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15208. Attorneys will provide individuals with low incomes with a brief consultation.  All licensed attorneys are welcome to participate, but volunteers are particularly needed with experience in family law, wills and estates, criminal records clearing, landlord/tenant, real property, and consumer debt.

This clinic is named in honor of Dr. Derrick A. Bell, a Pittsburgh native and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Dr. Bell was a civil rights lawyer and professor who pioneered scholarship on the intersection of race and justice.
