Pro Bono Opportunities Available in Southeastern PA

BUCKS COUNTY: Pro bono attorneys needed for PFA hearings Wednesdays (in-person)

Pro bono attorneys are urgently needed for Protection from Abuse (PFA) hearings on Wednesdays. Sign up for any Wednesday and help the court with this unique Bucks County access to justice initiative. The hearings are held at the Bucks County Justice Center, 100 N. Main St., Doylestown, PA 18901.

CHESTER COUNTY: Attorneys, paralegals, law students and community members needed for 2023 Mobile Home Tax Reassessment Project

The 2023 Mobile Home Tax Reassessment Project will begin in February 2023 and continue through summer. Volunteer opportunities are available for attorneys, paralegals, law students and community members. Multiple opportunities are available, and you do NOT need to volunteer for all months of the project.

DELAWARE COUNTY: Pro bono attorneys needed for custody cases

Volunteer attorneys have the opportunity to represent clients in custody cases in a limited scope, pursuant to the PA Rules of Professional Conduct and Delaware County’s limited entry of appearance rule for pro bono attorneys. Delaware County's Rule 1012 permits attorneys to withdraw by praecipe after representation at the number of custody conferences agreed to in advance.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY: Multiple opportunities

Divorce cases

Represent  clients in simple, no fault, no asset divorces. The divorces are either by consent or one-year separation and do  not involve equitable distributtion, custody, support or fault grounds. Typically volunteer attorneys are not required to appear at a court hearing in these cases. 

Custody cases

Represent clients in custody cases at Custody Consilliation Conferences. Volunteen attorneys can represent clients in a limited scope at the Concilliation only. All Concillliations are held via Zoom. There is no commitment for the volunteer attorney beyond the Conciliation.

Willow Grove outreach

Staff the outreach at the Eastern Montgomery County Courthouse Annex in Willow Grove on the second & fourth Thursday of the month from 2-3:30 PM.

Lansdale outreach at Manna on Main Street

Staff the Outreach at the North Penn Commons in Lansdale on Wednesdays from 2-3:30 PM.
