Lydia Horan Caparosa honored with Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Michael K. Smith Excellence in Service Award

The Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) honored Lydia Horan Caparosa, MacDonald Illig Jones & Britton LLP, Erie, with its Michael K. Smith Excellence in Service Award during its Summer Summit in mid-July at Camelback Resort in Tannersville.

The award is named in memory of a young Philadelphia lawyer committed to providing legal services for low-income people and to offering law-related educational programs to students. It is presented to a Pennsylvania young lawyer who, through his or her exemplary personal and professional conduct, reminds lawyers of their professional and community responsibilities.

Caparosa is the YLD At Large Chair to Committee/Section Liaisons and a trustee with the PBA Insurance/Trust Fund. She has played a vital role in the creation and implementation of Project LITIGATE, which stands for Lawyers Initiative to Improve next Generation Attorneys’ Trial Experience, a statewide initiative designed to help aspiring trial attorneys get earlier exposure to, and involvement in, the litigation process. Caparosa has volunteered many hours to advance the interests of young lawyers.
