OutLaw, Dickinson Law's LGBTQ+ student organization, is looking for attorney volunteers for its Name Change Assistance Clinic. Volunteer attorneys are needed and appreciated for the guidance and legal experience they are able to provide to student volunteers and attendees. Clinic attendees may have questions that student volunteers cannot answer, and we would like to have attorney volunteers available to respond to those questions.

The free clinic is designed to provide attendees the proper paperwork and guidance on the legal name change process for community members. The clinic provides the paperwork clients need to change their name-- the county-specific packet, forms to change name and gender on driver's license, birth certificate, SSA card, etc. The clinic has those documents for nearly every county in Pennsylvania. We not only provide the paperwork but work with our clients to help fill out the forms and answer questions. As a volunteering attorney, you would be there to give legal advice and answer questions that the student volunteers cannot answer.

The clinic runs from 7-9 on Thursday evenings (dates listed below) at the Penn State Dickinson Law, 150 South College St., Carlisle, PA 17013.

Neither the students nor the attendees are or will be under the impression that the clinic is a place to receive legal advice.

Dates and times for the clinic sessions are listed below. All clinics are Thursday, 7:00 PM-9:00 PM Eastern, on the following dates:

• February 8, 2024
• February 22, 2024
• March 21, 2024
• April 4, 2024
