Help Tenants Caught Up in the Eviction Crisis in Allegheny County

Neighborhood Legal Services (NLS) is seeking volunteer attorneys to participate in its Landlord/Tenant Mediation Brief Phone Advice Project.

Volunteers speak with 2-5 client-tenants in one week to prepare them for Magisterial District Justice-level, community-base mediation with their landlord. Hours of service are flexible with advice being provided by telephone and text message.

Training materials and resources are available to volunteers in an online library. Included in the resources are a legal advice checklist and sample legal advice. 

Experienced NLS attorneys are available for consultation to assist volunteers with questions about legal strategy and advice, as well as navigating around the resource library and Legal Server case management system.
