Hurricane Ida Recovery: Pro Bono Attorneys Needed in Southeastern PA

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA logoLegal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP) is assisting in the recovery from Hurricane Ida. Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties all are part of Pennsylvania’s eight-county federal disaster declaration (see more information at lasp.org/hurricane-ida).

Staff are being trained in Disaster Legal Aid, and the LASP Helpline, 877-429-5994, is serving as a community resource.

Noted Sara Planthaber, J.D., M.S.W., who has met with flood victims on behalf of LASP at a Multi-Area Resource Center (MARC) and a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC):

“Many clients have legal issues outside the scope of LASP’s regular practice. We need the assistance of local volunteer attorneys to help clients with other legal needs resulting from the flooding, to assist these clients start to rebuild their lives after this traumatic experience. As a community, we can ease the strain now to build our community back stronger in the future.”
