Local Bar Associations Receive Awards from the Pennsylvania Bar Association

Pennsylvania Bar Association logoThe Pennsylvania Bar Association honored 22 county bar associations with County Bar Recognition Awards during the 53rd Annual Seminar of the Conference of County Bar Leaders, Feb. 21 – 23, at the Nittany Lion Inn, State College. The awards, which are non-competitive in nature, annually recognize bar associations throughout Pennsylvania for projects that improve the legal profession, justice system and community.

“Each year, we’re proud to recognize the important projects and programs that members of local bar associations are doing to better communities throughout Pennsylvania,” said PBA President Charles Eppolito III. “I applaud the efforts of the many volunteers that made these good works possible.”

The following county bar associations received awards for notable projects and programs:

  • Allegheny County Bar Association: “Where There’s a WILL, There’s a Way” Program
  • Berks County Bar Association:  The Proper Role of Notaries Campaign
  • Bucks County Bar Association: Bucks County PFA Representation Program
  • Butler County Bar Association: Foundation Capital Campaign Kickoff
  • Centre County Bar Association: Expungement Clinic
  • Chester County Bar Association: Bar Foundation 50/50 Raffle and Law Explorers
  • Cumberland County Bar Association: 2018 Adopt-A-Family
  • Dauphin County Bar Association: Pro Bono PFA Defendant Procedural Overview, Saul Ewing LLP Adopts Pro Bono Expungement Clinics and Pro Bono Nonprofit Initiative
  • Delaware County Bar Association: Delco re:View Magazine and George B. Lindsay Memorial Lecture Series
  • Franklin County Bar Association: Law Day
  • Lackawanna Bar Association: Wills for Heroes
  • Lycoming Law Association: Holiday Toy and Clothing Drive, Mock Trial Competition and Law Day and Wills for Heroes
  • Monroe County Bar Association: Alternative Dispute Resolution Program, Lawyer to Lawyer Referral Program and Mentor Program
  • Montgomery Bar Association: Membership Celebration and Symposium and RealLawyers Campaign
  • Northampton County Bar Association: 2018 Bench Bar Conference

The Conference of County Bar Leaders, whose membership includes leaders from county bar associations throughout the state and from the Pennsylvania Bar Association, organizes a yearly educational conference focusing on the exchange of innovative bar association projects and ideas, and on the development of mutually-beneficial relationships among bar leaders that improve the legal profession. 

Founded in 1895, the Pennsylvania Bar Association strives to promote justice, professional excellence and respect for the law; improve public understanding of the legal system; facilitate access of legal services; and serve the lawyer members of the state’s largest organized bar association.
