As a large portion of our pop
ulation is entering the later years of their lives
, it is important to recognize the signs where a G
uardianship or Long Care Planning may be necessary
. Older clients are more likely to decline within
months, not years, changing the tone of meetings f
rom “if” to “when” something happens. An older cli
ent may also put the attorney in a situation where
the attorney has to consider whether their client
can take care of themselves. While your client ma
y be convinced that they have capacity and do not
need any assistance, when should you, as the attor
ney, step in and override the client’s wishes to i
mplement a plan that is in their best interest?

Happy Hour to follow seminar! Registration:

$50 - ECBA Members (Judges & Attorneys) and
  their Paraprofessional Staff
 $65 - Non-members

Reservations due to the ECBA office by Augu
 st 6, 2026.
