This program will explore cybersecurity an
 d ethical issues that can arise for legal services
  and public interest attorneys. Faculty will revie
 w key ethical duties including the duty of supervi
 sion, competence, and client confidentiality and h
 ow those obligations impact the attorney’s respons
 ibility to safeguard against both external and int
 ernal cybersecurity threats.   

Faculty will al
 so provide tips in navigating common issues in tec
 hnology as a lawyer, including email, communicatio
 ns, the use of AI, and handling remote work given 
 attorneys’ ethical obligations. Faculty will also 
 discuss ways in which attorneys should counsel cli
 ents to safeguard their own information. Faculty w
 ill also discuss best practices for handling techn
 ology-facilitated abuse in intimate partner violen
 ce contexts as identifying these types of scenario
 s can illustrate some of the newest technology use
 d for cyber and privacy invasion.   

Faculty wi
 ll not recommend specific products or tools but ra
 ther will provide the framework for practitioners 
 to assess whether the tools they adopt meet their 
 ethical standards in an ever-evolving environment 
 of risk and technological advancement.   What You
