The Berks County Bar Association is hosting a hybrid presentation entitled A New Era for Student Loans in Bankruptcy:  New Rules, Real Solutions on February 4, 2026 from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM Eastern. This seminar will be available in person at the Bar Association or via Zoom. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person at the Bar Association.

Scott Waterman, Esquire, Standing Chapter 13 Trustee in Reading, and Igor Roitburg, Senior Managing Director at Stretto, will review the differences between federal and private student loans, key statutory and case law developments related to discharging student loans, repayment assistance plan guidelines, and strategies to consider when clients need help tackling student loan debt in bankruptcy.
