The 2025 Toby Dickman Seminar will be held on November 5, 2025 from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM Eastern at the Montgomery County Courthouse - Courtroom A.
This year’s seminar focuses on compliance with the Pennsylvania Rules of Evidence, including the presentation of evidence and tackling of hot button issues that family law practitioners and the bench frequently encounter during trial, such as expert testimony, introduction of expert reports, child hearsay, and the use of video/audio recordings, just to name a few topics.
Professor David. S. Caudill, a published author and orator who teaches Evidence at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, will guide practitioners through a refresher course for the first half of the seminar on the Pennsylvania Rules of Evidence.
The second half of the morning features a judicial panel, including the Honorable Daniel Clifford, the Honorable Nicole Tate-Wilborn, Hearing Officer Lynn Snyder, and Hearing Officer Erin Downing, who will address and offer hot tips on the consideration of these numerous issues within the realm of litigation in divorce/equitable distribution, support, and custody matters.
This seminar serves as both an educational and practical discourse on adhering to and applying the Pennsylvania Rules of Evidence and is suitable for attorneys at various levels of practice. Attendees may send over general questions regarding these topics in advance of the seminar for the panelists’ consideration as long as they do not specifically pertain to active, pending cases.
