Beaver County Bar Association logoThe Beaver County Bar Association will present a CLE seminar  entitled The Distressed Lawyer – An Occupational Hazard? on April 15, 2025 at the Bar Association building at 788 Turnpike Street in Beaver.  Registration and lunch will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m.  The seminar will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern.

The presenter will be: Brian S. Quinn, Esquire.

This experienced speaker will discuss:

  1. The early warning signs of impairment.
    • Symptoms of stress and burnout that are particularly prevalent among members of the legal profession and how our professional culture may be contributing to the problems we face.
    • Discussion will include the basic stress reactions, both physical and psychological; the difference between healthy stress and distress;
    • Guidelines for a “master plan”, including realistic prevention strategies that work.
  2. Why lawyers and judges are at especially high risk to develop mental health and substance use disorders.
  3. The free services that Lawyers Assistance Programs provide to lawyers, judges, their family members and law students.
  4. The barriers that prevent lawyers and judges from seeking the help they need.

Seating for the seminar is limited to 30. The first 30 reservations will be accepted.

LUNCH WILL PROVIDED ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PREREGISTERED WITH THEIR ORDER. BROWN BAG LUNCHES ARE PERMISSIBLE.
