NCLER logoThe National Center on Law & Elder Rights is hosting a free webinar entitled HUD Homeless Assistance Programs and Permanent Supportive Housing on October 2, 2024 from 3:00 PM-4:00 PM Eastern.

Homelessness interventions, such as permanent supportive housing (PSH), are critical for preventing and reducing homelessness for low-income older adults. As homelessness rises among this group, legal assistance providers and aging services advocates should know how to connect their clients to PSH and other resources available through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) homeless assistance programs. Advocates can also play a key role in ensuring that the homeless service system equitably meets the needs of older adults.

This webinar will cover:

  • The basics of HUD’s homeless assistance programs;
  • How aging advocates can refer clients for assistance and participate in improving their community’s homeless response system; and
  • The importance of permanent supportive housing for older adults and people with disabilities at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
Presenters:
  • Jennifer Kye, Senior Attorney, Justice in Aging
  • Marcella Macguire, Director of Health Systems Integration, Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH)

Closed captioning will be available. Please be sure to log onto the webinar a few minutes early in order to secure your place for the live presentation on Zoom. If you would like to request ASL interpretation or have other accessibility related questions, please email ncler@acl.hhs.gov at least one week in advance.
