Remote Pro Bono for Senior Lawyers: Opportunities and Best Practices (Webcast)

Topics:
  • Pro Bono

The American Bar Association is hosting a webcast entitled Remote Pro Bono for Senior Lawyers: Opportunities and Best Practices on October 20, 2020 from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM Eastern.

If you're a senior, retired, or inactive attorney looking for opportunities to provide pro bono service, join the webinar to learn about a few programs that can be done online or over the phone so you can help out in the comfort of your own home or office. You'll learn about the ethical considerations of limited scope representation and providing legal advice remotely.

This webinar will highlight pro bono opportunities that appeal to senior, retired, or inactive attorneys interested in providing pro bono service to low-income individuals. Opportunities include ABA Free Legal Answers and Atlanta Legal Aid Society's Enhanced Services Project and Senior Hotline. These are programs that exist online or over the phone so that attorneys can provide pro bono service from the comfort of their own home or office and in a limited scope way.

Pro bono legal services professionals will learn strategies and best practices for developing such programs. Attendees will hear from and interact with a program founder and senior lawyer volunteer as well as a program coordinator.
