Philadelphia VIP logoPhiladelphia VIP will be holding a free Estate Planning CLE: Protecting Homes and Empowering End-of-Life Dignity through Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Healthcare Directives on November 18, 2019 from 12:00 PM-1:30 PM at Pepper Hamilton LLP, 3000 Two Logan Square, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

VIP is embarking on an exciting new project to preserve homeownership and household wealth within families living in poverty, and volunteer attorneys are needed to help clients through this discrete pro bono opportunity.

This CLE training, led by Roxane Crowley of Rothkoff Law Group and Lindsay Schoonmaker of Philadelphia VIP, will guide volunteer attorneys through the straightforward process of helping homeowners with their estate planning needs.

Most clients are seeking wills, to make sure that their home goes to the family or loved ones who have cared for them and who are often already living in the property. Some clients are also seeking financial powers of attorneys or advance healthcare directives to ensure their affairs are properly handled by a trusted relative or friend.

VIP provides all of the materials that volunteers need, including template documents, to handle their cases, which take less than 10 hours to complete. This discrete pro bono opportunity has a marked impact on clients’ lives and attacks Philadelphia’s tangled title crisis from a preventative angle.

Lunch will be provided.

Attendees will earn one (1) substantive CLE credit if they accept a VIP case within 6 months after the training.
