Dauphin County Attorneys Needed to Assist Those Affected by Hurricane Ivan

Wednesday, September 22, 2004

Harrisburg, PA - September 21, 2004.

The Dauphin County Bar Association has offered to provide volunteer attorneys to discuss insurance and legal matters related to flood damage next Wednesday (September 29) evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Atrium of Harrisburg's City Government Center on Market Square. Mayor Reed highlighted the bar association proposal in his press conference at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. This effort is patterned after a similar program conducted in January, 1996.

Even simple claims forms can seem daunting to someone who has recently experienced a catastrophic event like the flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ivan. This is an opportunity for our local legal community to step forward and assist in the recovery effort for many of our Dauphin County area victims.

Information materials will be available for distribution, and a short orientation briefing for volunteer attorneys will begin at 6:00 p.m.

PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING US FOR THIS IMPORTANT COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY.

Contact Sandy Ballard at 232-7536 or by e-mail at sandy@dcba-pa.org to indicate your willingness to participate. Space will be limited, so please respond quickly!
