Volunteers needed to assist the homeless - H.E.L.P. Pittsburgh

Monday, December 20, 2010

H.E.L.P. Pittsburgh -"Homeless Experience Legal Protection"- is beginning its second year of providing legal help to homeless clients of Operation Safety Net.

This project has been very successful, meeting the needs of over 34 clients who were facing issues such as housing eviction, family issues, and Social Security benefits.

One recent case resulted in a man who lived on the streets for years receiving Social Security disability benefits and being able to live successfully in an apartment. The project was featured in a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article earlier this year.

Please take this opportunity to renew your firm's commitment to this valuable project by signing up for at least one clinic date in the coming year.
