Fundraiser honors community leaders in Lackawanna County

The gala was attended by 175 people and raised thousands of dollars for Lackawanna Pro Bono, the nonprofit that locally helps people who cannot afford legal representation.
The dinner honored attorneys Ned and Mary Ann Abrahamsen, attorney George V. and Patti Lynett, and the Scranton Area Foundation for contributions to the community.
In attendance, according to the story, were Carlene R. Gallo, attorney and president of Lackawanna Pro Bono; U.S. Rep. Paul E. Kanjorski, D-11, Nanticoke; U.S. Sen. Bob Casey and his mother and former Pennsylvania first lady, Ellen Casey; and Sister Adrian Barrett, I.H.M.
