The Veterans Law Clinic (VLC) branch program on the Harrisburg campus of the Widener University School of Law will be terminated due to lack of funds on June 30, 2010, according to professor Thomas J. Reed of the school, director of the clinic.
Professor Reed also reports the following:
- The Harrisburg branch of the Pennsylvania Civil Clinic will assume the responsibility for pending Veterans Administration cases as of that date, and Monica Cliatt, Esq., will be the point person at the clinic.
- VLC clients have been notified of this change and they have the option to continue with the Pennsylvania Civil Clinic after June 30 or to retrieve their claim files from the clinic office.
- VLC Harrisburg staff attorney Jeremiah Underhill, Esq., will no longer be on staff as of June 30.
Reed described Underhill as “a valuable and effective member of the Veterans Law Clinic staff for nearly four years' time. I appreciate the time and effort that Jeremiah put into making the Veterans Law Clinic a successful program on the Harrisburg campus and I know that he will succeed in his future endeavors as an attorney and a teacher.”
