Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service: Free Legal Clinic for Low Income, Homeless and Senior Residents of Philadelphia

- Organization: Homeless Advocacy Project of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Philadlephia Volunteer for the Indigent Program/Philadelphia Law Works, and the SeniorLaw Center
The Homeless Advocacy Project of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Philadlephia Volunteer for the Indigent Program/Philadelphia Law Works, and the SeniorLaw Center will be holding a free legal clinic on January 21, 2008 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at Germantown High School in Philadelphia.
The clinic will provide free legal advice and representation to low income Philadelphians on the following legal matters:
- Advance Planning Documents
- Birth Certificates, ID
- Consumer Law
- Family Law
- Homelessness
- Housing & Homeownership
- Public Benefits
- Public Utilities
Residents are also invited to attend "Know Your Rights" workshops given by experienced attorneys in the following areas:
9:30 am: Custody & Support.
An overview of your rights and important family law updates!
10:30 am: Homeownership.
Learn about the importance of title, home repair programs and resources, and how to avoid contractor fraud!
