The US Citizenship & Immigration Services, Jewish Family & Children's Service of Pittsburgh, and the Pro Bono Center of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation will be hosting a program entitled Law and Process of Refugee Adjustment of Status Applications on April 29, 2011 from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Allegheny County Bar Association, President's Conference Room, Koppers Building in Pittsburgh.
Did you know that approximately 400 refugees are resettled in Pittsburgh every year from countries like Burma, Bhutan, and Iraq? All of them are entitled to apply for the permanent resident status after one year in the U.S. and most come to Jewish Family & Children's Service for legal representation to do so.
If you have been looking for a way to begin learning the basics of immigration law and would be willing to take a refugee adjustment of status case pro bono, please come to this training on April 29, 2011, hosted by the US Citizenship & Immigration Services, Jewish Family & Children's Service of Pittsburgh, and the Pro Bono Center of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation to learn more.
Presenters include: Sheila Velez Martinez, Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor, Pitt Law School; Jamie Englert, Accredited Representative, Jewish Family & Children's Service; and U.S. Immigration Service Officer Diane O'Toole.
Space in this FREE program is limited to 20 participants.
